The 2019 Internazionali BNL d’Italia is a professional tennis tournament that will be played on outdoor clay courts at the Foro Italico in Rome, Italy, from 15 to 21 May 2019. It will be the 76th edition of the Italian Open and it is classified as a Premier 5 event on the 2019 WTA Tour.
56 players will contest for the title in the main draw of the tournament and there are 16 seeded players, from 1 to 8 seeded have BYE and will start from the 2 round. Aliaksandra got into the main draw being world N.33, but she is not a seeded player.
Last year Sasha also played this tournament, but started from the qualification and could not make it through to the main draw having lost to Mona Bartel (5-7, 2-6) in the first round. That means that she doesn’t need to defend any points and has a chance to gain 60 points for the second round, potentionally 105 points for the third round. The winner of the tournament is given 900 points, the finalist – 585, and the players who reach final-4 will be presented with 350 points to the rankings.
