Double trouble in Madrid

Aliaksandra and Lesia Tsurenko (26 WTA) got into the main draw as ALT and have never played with each other before. In the first round they faced Daria Kasatkina/Anett Kontaveit. Our girls started the match pretty well as if they have had experience playing together. The opening set was a close one, Sasha and Lesia managed to make a break at 6-5 and took the set 7-5 in 46 minutes.

In the second set the opponents won important points and it was not an easy task for Belarus-Ukraine team to stop them. So, the second set went to Kasatkina/Kontaveit 0-6 in 25 minutes.

The deciding set in doubles is a super tiebreak. Sasha and Lesia knew what to do and pushed themselves to get this win with the score 7-5, 0-6, 10-4 in 1 hour and 23 minutes.

Congaratulations to the tandem! Now Sasha is into the second round both in singles and doubles. In doubles Aliaksandra and Lesia will face the winner of the match Ostapenko/Zvonareva – sisters Chan. Tomorrow is the day for singles match where Sasha will play against Anna Karolina Schmidlova (103 WTA). It was a good preparation for singles battle. We hope for the winning result tomorrow as well.
