Flying into the 3 round

In the second round Sasha faced Anna Karolina Schmidlova (103 WTA). Aliaksandra has played against Schmidlova 4 times and had H2H 3-1, but the last match was played in 2016. So, today’s match was a new chapter in the battle between these two.

Sasha started match in a confident way serving well and playing effectively at the net with somw amazing dropshots. Deservedly Aliaksandra took the first set with the score 6-2 in just 33 minutes.

In the second set Sasha continued to play inspiring tennis and won 4 games in a row. Then, Schmidlova tried to comeback and won somehow 2 games. But at the end Sasha managed to close the match 6-2, 6-2 in 1 hour and 16 minutes.

Now Sasha is into the 3 round in Mutua Madrid Open which is WTA Premier Mandatory tournament. For the place in the 1/4 final Sasha will play against the winner of the match Naomi Osaka (1 WTA) – Sara Sorribes Tormo (73 WTA). But before this Aliaksandra will also play doubles match with Lesia Tsurenko against Ostapenko/Zvonareva.
