Aliaksandra could not get a win in singles over Simona Halep (7 WTA), but find the way to stay in the game with a win in doubles.
Aliaksandra and Lesia Tsurenko (33 WTA) in the first round in doubles faced Bacsinszky/Pera. Sasha and Lesia both have lost in singles and that’s why were very focused and motivated for the win. They started the match in a good way with early breaks for 4-0 and were able to close first set with the score 6-4 in 35 minutes.
In the second set Bacsinszky/Pera tried to force the decider and managed to take the set also 4-6 in 44 minutes. But in final set Sasha and Lesia didn’t give the opponents any chances and won the match with confident score 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in 1 hour 49 minutes.
Congaratulations to the tandem! Sasha is still in the game! In the second round Aliaksandra and Lesia will face one of the best tandem – Siniakova/Krejcikova.
